Evenings of Recollection

Evenings of Recollection for men are held on the third Monday of every month from 6:30 – 8:30pm at Midtown Cultural Center (1825 North Wood Street). The evening consists of times of prayer led by priests and talks given by laymen, focusing on how to grow in the spiritual life and integrate faith into daily life. An emphasis is placed on sanctifying marriage and family life, as well as one’s professional work. Recollections also include Eucharistic Adoration, recitation of the Rosary, and opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Refreshments and fellowship end each evening.

Note: An Evening of Recollection geared toward young professional men is held on the second Monday of each month.

Retreats

Midtown sponsors weekend and midweek retreats for men at Shellbourne Conference Center. Located on 40 acres of forested land in Valparaiso, IN, Shellbourne retreats are given by priests of Opus Dei. In addition to general retreats for all men, retreats in Spanish and for specific groups (such as fathers with young children) are scheduled throughout the year. Click here for the full schedule of Shellbourne retreats.
