For Fathers and Sons

What are the Pioneers and Mountaineers Clubs?

The Pioneers Club (for boys in grades 1-4 and their fathers) and Mountaineers Club (grades 5-7) are programs of the Midtown Cultural Center. The Clubs help young boys to develop virtues (fortitude, temperance, etc.) through talks and fun activities. Talks for the fathers show the importance of developing virtues and strong characters in their sons and give them practical advice on how to do this. In each meeting, fathers have an opportunity to spend meaningful time with their sons and with other families.

Schedule of Events

Each monthly meeting follows the same schedule:

15 minutes Talk on some aspect of character (for the boys with the fathers attending)

30 minutes Activity (for the boys) and talk on educating your son in virtue (for the fathers)

60 minutes Activity (fathers and sons together)

15 minutes Optional talk in chapel (fathers and sons together)

30 minutes Snack (fathers and sons together)
